Learn from my mistakes...
Today, I started to edit my commercial. My commercial was focused on my champion backpack. After creating the storyboard and acting out I was prepared to revise what was recorded. Editing is required to make media look smoother when transitioning from one scene to another. I took a lot of shots, so I was aware that much editing was required. I spent rougly forty minutes of class time on my phone adding and removing scenes where I believed were necessary. Near the end of the class I realized that something was wrong. It was not the fact that the commercial was not done. The format I was using seemed to be the issue. The video did not look as good as it should have. Imovie was not the right fit for me. Before I could dig myself into a deeper mess, I decided it was time to look for another app to edit with. Sure Imovie created this beautiful scenes and fonts but they were not working with me in the way that I wanted them to. Imovie added credits and extra pieces that I did not need. Those same pieces that I did not need did not allow me to delete them, that was another con I dealt with. Another part of Imovie that I was not happy about was the way they forced me to choose a specific clip. For example, let's say that I wanted to add a scene that was 2.7 seconds, they would have a maximum time of 1.8 seconds and that did not work for me because I needed to insert a slot that was 2.7 seconds. They grayed out scenes that I needed to use. I was unable to trim videos to my liking. As an editing app you should have that available as an option. All in all Imovie was a waste of time and I do not recommend it. Do not follow in my footsteps, learn from my mistakes.
